Connected
This piece expresses a moment in time and water's limitless quality; like ripples on the surface, the whirlpools within gather strength from one another as they form yet retain their own strength and purpose.

“Water is infinite; it holds stories; it carries life. This piece expresses a moment in time and water's limitless quality; like ripples on the surface, the whirlpools within gather strength from one another as they form yet retain their own strength and purpose. For me, the circles also represent family, community and connection. Like water, we may come from different places but gather strength together. We connect.
Like water, we may come from different places but gather strength together. This work evolved from a series of line drawings I made responding to the site. It is my hope for the work that, in addition to the visual representation of water, it will also impart a sense of connection and calm through its organic and balanced repetition of lines. The use of light and metal is both protective and enveloping. As the staircase is a central connector in the building, it brings people together like a river, carrying them through the space”.
